Middle notes are also known as “heart notes” and comprises the body of the scent. They take about 10-30 minutes to develop on the skin. Base notes are those that have heavy molecular weight. They take time to evaporate and hence last longer than other notes. Some examples would be vanilla, musk, woods, oakmoss etc. There are scents that do not have base, middle and top notes.
